About Sangla Valley

Sangla is a popular hill town located in the Baspa Valley of Kinnaur district in Himachal Pradesh. It is situated in the range of the greater Himalayas that gives it a cold climate. One has to book his/her accommodation in advance to enjoy safe stay. You can choose hotel in Sangla, camps, resorts, best accommodation in Sangla as per your preference. Located close to the Tibetan border, this place is covered with forest slopes and mountains.

Itinerary

Day 1 Reporting at Surat / Vadodara station.

Departure for Delhi by schedule of train

Day 2 Arrival at Delhi & departure for Chandigarh

Arrive at Delhi around 11:00 am and Departure for Chandigarh by bus to Sangla valley.

Day 3 Arrival at Sangla valley

Reach at Sangla valley campsite by 08:00 AM, Settle in to your tents on arrival. Relax with some mint tea and snacks. After which go for a small walk to explore the camp surrounding. Evening campfire.

Day 4Nangdang and kamru visit (3200 meters) - 13 km

After breakfast a private taxi will take you to Nangdand, which offers you a visit of untouched scenic beauty and green pastures. Renowned for its striking natural beauty, this village has grown to be a popular spot for shooting of various Hindi movies and ad films. Next move is to the 1000 years old Kamru fort. Established by the Kamru thakurs ( rulers), who established the Bushahar hill state, it served as the capital of Bushahar dynasty. Close to the fort lies the Badrinath temple and a Buddhist monastery. This place offers you a unique blend of Buddhism, Hinduism and tribal culture. After sightseeing, we return back to the camp via Sangla bazaar.

Day 5Hike to Rasorang (3100 meters) – 12 km

After breakfast you will cross the bridge on Baspa river and reach Batseri village. Here you will see the pent roof styled temple of Badrinarayan built in wood and stone. Badri Narayan is elder brother of kamru badrinath. He is also called bitho Narayan and parvo rajas which means the king of festivals. The deities in Kinnaur are typified in to two sects; the Shankara – Monshira and the Naga Narayans. Next we will move to the village top, cross green fields, forest and walk along the left bank of stream and reach a place named Ronchugoling. After a brief stoppage here followed by a steep climb, you will witness the first glacier of the region. On moving further you will come across another glacier (till june only). The whole path involves ascent and decent of hills, offering panoramic view of streams and virgin forest of different varieties of pine and bhojpatra. Next we reach Rackcham, where the valley opens up offering the view of majestic snow capped peaks. Beyond these peaks lies Uttrakhand and Tibet. From here you move back to the camp.

Day 6 visit Chitkul (3,450 meters) – 20 km

After breakfast you will drive past pine forests and pink/purple flowered buck wheat fields (summer) intermittently dotting the edge of the path. The journey is made more memorable by the numerous streams constantly gurgling in the silence of the mountains. Chitkul is the last village of india bordering China. From here we will climb on foot to Nagasthi. While climbing we come across multicolored fields of buck wheat, millet, pea, mustard, and potato. With Baspa on the right and mighty Himalayas on the left we will pass through the alpine countryside and will tread across unique medicinal plants and flowers. After the beautiful trek we reach Nagasthi where one ITBP check post is located. We need inner line permit to move ahead as the region beyond comprised the sensitive India -Tibet border area. We will stop here and refresh with lunch. After a stroll and some sightseeing we will move back to Chitkul village. Move back to camp in the evening.

Day 7visit Hurba (2700 meters) - 12 km

The days destination is Sangla village. We begin by crossing a wooden bridge on Baspa river and then tread on a path dotted with mounds of stones with Buddhist versed engraved on them. These stones are locally known as manne, these are considered as pious and reminds of the Ashokan rock edicts. The path leads across Seranchhe rivulet to Themegarang. The village has apple orchards and small wooden houses. After this we will cross the Gangarang stream (considered like sacred Ganga in the region). The water of this stream has healing properties and cures skin diseases. Moving further we reach Sangla village, with a population of 5000. This is the largest village of the Sangla valley. Located in the village is the sacred temple of deity Berang Nag. It is said that this village was once a lake and came into existence after draining of the water by the deity. From here onwards you have two options;

Option 1: We climb gradually to the Sangla bazaar and drive to the camp.

Option 2: Walk to the camp. We cross the Sangla bridge and along a track on bypass left to Chamalang next on our stop. Walking on, we will cross Rogti power house, a small HEP which supplies power to the entire valley. Then comes pine forest, trout fishery farm, Debbar khad, and Hurba where we will see extensive grasslands with a stream midway which harbour trout fish. After a brief stoppage here we will walk past Seman khad and finally to the camp.

Day 8Departure for Chandigarh

Today after breakfast we will be driven to Chandigarh. On way lunch at a suitable place. Night stay at En route hotel, Chandigarh.

Day 9Chandigarh to Delhi

Post breakfast, reach at Chandigarh station departure for Delhi by train [ KALKA EXPRESS 12312, Time – 11: 55 pm ]

Day 10 Arrival at Delhi

Arrival at Delhi & departure for Surat / Vadodara by Train.

Early morning reach at Vadodara with sweet memories of camp.

Everyone have to must bring her/his original Photo ID proof, if you forgot that you would be liable to pay any of the Indian Railway fines as per Indian Railway rules, if you travel by train.

Cancellation Charges*
  • Please fill up the registration form and pay an advance 30% to 50% of total Price and the balance payment is to be paid before 30 days of the departure date of the batch.
  • If you wish to do Transfer fund direct into our Bank Account, we will mail to you Bank details during registration process.
  • Cheque/Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of ‘Yuvaa Pragati Adventure Treks and Tours’  
  • Payment against dishonoured cheque shall have to be paid with additional charge of ₹ 200/- per cheque extra and other Bank charges if applicable by Bank.
  • In case of cash deposit to our account ₹50/- shall be charged for each such deposit.
  •  If the balance payment is not made before 30 days, 15% of the Total charges of the camp/tour will be forfeited without any prior intimation and remain will refund by cheque in favour of participant as per detail given while registering.

 

In case of cancellation,

  • 85% of the Total charges of the camp/tour will be refunded 
  • 30-21 Days Prior Trip Date 70% of the Total charges of the camp/tour will be  refunded
  • 20-11 Days Prior Trip Date 50% of the Total charges of the camp/tour will be    refunded 
  • Less Than 10 Days of  the Trip Date have No Refund 

Only Written Cancellations by post or email will be accepted. Refund should be claimed within month after completion of the camp. Original receipts must be returned to us for refund.
